Remote Learning - Fall 2020

We continue to closely monitor the health data in McHenry County, and the four metrics being used by the McHenry County Department of Health have accelerated quickly, with three of the four metrics indicating a transition to a remote learning model. The McHenry County Department of Health announced districts should consider virtual learning. District 155 will transition to Remote Learning on Monday, October 26. As we make decisions, our top priorities continue to be the health and safety of our students and staff while making sure we are doing what’s best for students.

  • The schedule will continue with our current 1st - 9th period schedule (7:25 a.m. - 2:05 p.m.) Monday through Friday.

  • Students in our specialized programs (FCS, FLS, Life Skills, STRIVE) will continue with in-person.

  • Haber Oaks students will continue with remote learning until Friday, November 6. We plan to have students return to a Hybrid Model on Monday, November 9.

  • Sports currently in season (Cross Country & Swimming) will continue as determined by IHSA. Contact days for next week will be cancelled. Other extracurricular activities will continue to meet virtually.

  • Meals will be available for pick-up for all students at Crystal Lake Central High School, located at 45 W. Franklin Ave. in Crystal Lake (field house entrance off Walkup). Food will be provided Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children can receive breakfast and lunch for up to three days per pickup.

  • District 155 will remain in a remote learning model until the metrics decrease and remain stable to allow us to return to our Hybrid Learning Model again.

During remote learning, we ask that you continue to call the attendance line and notify us when your student experiences symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19 as we will remain diligent in monitoring cases and contact tracing.
