Prairie Ridge High School is a public, four-year high school with an enrollment of 1,146 students. Prairie Ridge ranked in the top eight percent of high schools nationally by U.S. News & World Report. Prairie Ridge has been recognized as a top high school for the last four years by U.S. News & World Report. Located approximately 45 miles northwest of Chicago, the school serves Crystal Lake, Prairie Grove, Bull Valley, Burton’s Bridge, Oakwood Hills, and Ridgefield.
Prairie Ridge offers a comprehensive curriculum and extracurricular activities to help students expand their academic and social skills, learn about themselves, engage in positive experiences, and be involved with community outreach.
There are 25 different sports and more than 30 clubs and activities. In District 155, 82% of teachers hold a master’s degree. The teacher-student ratio is 20:1. The school also employs four counselors, two social workers, and one psychologist on its student services team.
Community High School District 155 includes four comprehensive high schools and one alternative education campus. Serving grades 9-12, each institution has full State of Illinois recognition and accreditation. Enrollment includes approximately 5,370 students from McHenry and Lake counties.
